1 - Introduction
L’Opération "Tarnegol" est une opération de l'Armée de l'Air israélienne menée à la veille de la crise de Suez en 1956. Cette opération, consistait à intercepter et détruire un avion de type Iliouchine IL-14 au départ de Damas (Syrie) et transportant une partie de l’état major Egyptien de retour dans leurs pays.

Operation Tarnegol was an Israeli Air Force operation carried out on the eve of the 1956 Suez Crisis. It witnessed an Israeli Gloster Meteor NF.13 intercept and destroy an Egyptian Ilyushin Il-14 carrying high-ranking members of the Egyptian General Staff en route from Syria to Egypt.
